It all started when two sixteen-year-olds, Marc, a small-town extrovert, and Jasmine, a small town introvert—crossed paths at a church retreat. Neither of them expected anything more than awkward icebreakers and lukewarm hot chocolate, but God had other plans. Although they only met for a few short minutes that weekend, it unknowingly planted the first seeds of something much bigger.Fast forward a few weeks: Jasmine was doing what she enjoyed most, camping with her family in Jaffray, living her best lake life. She posted a sunny Instagram pic at Tie Lake, probably thinking, “This is cute.” Marc saw it and thought, “This is destiny.” He slid into her DMs (as all great modern love stories begin) and asked to hang out.Their first adventure? A quad ride up First Peak Mountain. Soon after all the mud, laughter, and wishful thinking, they were hooked. Not just on the thrill of the ride, but on each other. That day wasn’t just a hangout; it was the beginning of a lifelong adventure.Over the next five years, they grew together like wildflowers, sometimes tangled, always beautiful. They explored trails, tackled challenges, and built a love that’s equal parts goofy and grounded. From spontaneous hikes to deep late-night talks, they learned that love isn’t just about romance, it's about showing up, growing up, and laughing through it all.Five years later, Marc made the most grown-up decision of all, he decided to ask Jasmine to marry him. Because when you find someone who makes you laugh on mountaintops and cry happy tears in quiet moments, you hold on tight.

Featuring ski-in/ski-out access to Fernie Alpine Resort, located on site, this hotel offers a restaurant and lounge. A heated outdoor pool and 3 exterior hot tubs are available. All suites feature a fireplace. Equipped with a full kitchen, each suite at Lizard Creek Lodge is comfortably furnished. Free wired internet is included. All suites feature a private balcony with mountain views. Fine dining is available at Cirque, the on-site restaurant and guests can enjoy cocktails served at the bar overlooking the mountains. The restaurant closes seasonally and re-opens for the winter ski season from 08:00 to 22:00 daily. Ski storage and a ski pass vendor are located on site. Ski equipment rental is available. Fernie city center is 10 minutes’ drive from this hotel. Mount Fernie Provincial Park is 3.7 mi away.

Lizard Creek Lodge

Featuring an indoor pool and waterslide, this British Columbia resort overlooks Elk River and is less than 5 minutes’ drive to skiing at Fernie Alpine Resort. Free WiFi is offered in all rooms. Offering a mountain or river view, cable TV and an private bathroom at Fernie Stanford Resort. Select rooms feature a spa bath and separate living room. A complimentary continental breakfast is provided daily at Resort Fernie Stanford. A 24-hour fitness center and outdoor hot tubs are available as well. Log cabin inspired with floor to ceiling windows, this resort features exposed log pillars and contemporary furniture. The Tandoor &amp; Grill Restaurant offers locally American and Indian inspired dished daily. Dishes include vegetarian options. Fernie Golf and Country Club is 10 minutes’ drive away. Kimberley Airport is 68 mi away from Fernie Stanford Resort.
